Screen Yorkshire is running 2 Boot Camps in Bradford and York in January.
They’re part of a series of initiatives to drive growth in high end television and film production in the county.
’With production levels increasing and Channel 4’s move to Leeds on the horizon, this is an incredibly exciting time to enter the screen industries in Yorkshire,” said Richard Knight, Screen Yorkshire’s production liaison and education manager.
“With the support of ScreenSkills, we have been able to increase the capacity of this ‘Boot Camp’, which means we’ll now be able train more people than ever before.’’
Recent high profile films shooting in the region include Fast & Furious spin-off, Hobbs and Show; Downton Abbey; Hope Gap; Official Secrets; The Secret Garden; and Peterloo.
“We are really pleased to be supporting this boot camp and helping find new talent in Yorkshire and the Humber. We have found boot camps like these to be a very effective introduction to the screen industries, both for new entrants and for those interested in transferring their skills from other sectors,” added Gareth Ellis-Unwin, head of film at ScreenSkills.
‘Boot Camp’ is supported by ScreenSkills using National Lottery funds awarded by the BFI as part of the Future Film Skills programme.
