Over the pandemic, research conducted by consulting firm McKinsey found that 36% of consumers are trying new brands, creating a shift for digital strategies within the food & drink sector.
In September 2020, Tesco launched their new Clubcard strategy, taking a leaf from Ikea with their ‘member prices’ proposition. To ensure stronger brand loyalty, the Clubcard members are now offered a cheaper price point on many products against its RRP, creating a sense of advocacy.
