Richard Abbott, the editor of the Yorkshire Business Insider, is to leave to join Harrogate-based PR agency Cicada Communications.
Abbott, who has been in his present role since he took over from Jim Pendrill in 2010, will join Cicada as an account director.
It’s understood he is currently working a six-month notice period and the exact date he will start at Cicada has not yet been finalised.
Before joining Insider Media, Abbott was deputy editor of Marketing magazine and Campaign Middle East. He’s also been features editor at Media Week.
Cicada was founded by managing director Di Burton in 1987 and works with clients including UK Trade & Investment, National Insect Week and the Make a Dream charity.
