Two children’s producers have formed the first kids-specialist indie to come out of Manchester since the formation of MediaCityUK in 2006.

Former CBeebies series producer Jon Hancock and ex Zodiak Kids Head of Development David Hallam have launched Three Arrows Media, based on Hope Road in Sale.

The company will specialise in children’s live action and will create, develop and produce content.

Its production slate is launched with an international development deal for a new talent-led factual entertainment show with Discovery Kids APAC.

The company has also signed a development deal with CBeebies for a mixed media factual series and is the co-format owner of a new space-themed pre-school entertainment series called Asra for S4C, which will go into production in July.

Hallam said: “Jon and I have been discussing this for a while, so it’s great to finally be able to say to the world that ‘we’re here’.

“We’ve already got a lively slate of projects in development and conversations happening across the industry with other producers, partners and commissioners.

“We’re looking forward to sharing our creativity and collaborating with friends old and new.”

Hancock added: “We’re excited to be putting down the roots of a new company which has global aspirations.

“Our Manchester production base is the home from where we want to reach out across the world, developing programmes which will inspire and entertain younger viewers.

“Starting with the development of our live action show in partnership with Discovery Kids in Australia, we’re half way round the world already.”
