Country music legend Dolly Parton will read a Bedtime Story on CBeebies this month.

The renowned singer-songwriter will read Dog Loves Books, written and illustrated by Louise Yates, on CBeebies on Wednesday October 25th.

The story follows Dog, who loves books so much that he opens his own bookshop.

Parton said: “It’s an honour to be reading for CBeebies Bedtime Stories as encouraging children to develop a love of books from an early age is very important to me.  I hope my songs and stories inspire the CBeebies audience in the UK. Thank you for having me!”

Parton joins a stellar list of celebrities who have read a CBeebies Bedtime Story – including recent additions Tom Hardy, Chris Evans, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Guy Garvey, David Tennant, Tim Peake, Nadiya Hussain and David Hasselhoff.

CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on daily at 6:50pm.
