Digital 2000 rebrands as SmartSource


Huddersfield’s Smith has completed the rebrand of Sheffield-based Digital 2000.

The business which started as a print supplier and cost-reduction specialist in 1996 has renamed as SmartSource to demonstrate better how it has evolved into a supply chain management solutions provider.

“Naming is a very complicated and subjective process. We were hell-bent that Digital 2000 needed a new name to reflect what they did,” explained Oli Smith, Creative Director at Smith.

“We worked through several names and settled on SmartSource. We feel the new name, as well as the standout brand identity and website will help SmartSource in the future. They are a great team and we can’t wait to see what they get up to in the future.”

SmartSource works with businesses including Aldi, BT, FedEx, DHL, Pets At Home and Bunzl.

“Over the last 12 months, it’s been an interesting journey, where we’ve looked at what we do, how we do it, and then how we capture that into a new brand identity,” added Matt Cotton, Managing Director at the newly named SmartSource.

“The name Digital2000 served us for many years, and did a great job, however SmartSource clearly expresses what we do, and it will definitely help us move forward”.
