Diane Morgan: “All the quotes used in TV Press releases like this are written by Chat GPT”

Filming has begun on the third series of Diane Morgan’s BBC comedy, Mandy.

Morgan, writes, directs and stars in the series and doesn’t have time for media comment:

“All the quotes used in TV Press releases like this are written by Chat GPT now,” she (it?) stated.

“This one certainly is. When you’re writing and directing and performing in something you can’t waste time thinking of some pointless quote just to show off. No one reads beyond the first words anyway; because they just repetitively say how thrilled and excited everyone is. No one’s reading this now, are they? Only a fool would do that. Come on, there must be a book you could be reading now instead of this nonsense.”

It will feature the return of Mandy’s friend, mentor and nail clinician Lola, played by Michelle Greenidge (Code 404), alongside new cast members: Paul Ready (Motherland), Beverley Callard (Coronation Street), Nathan Foad (Our Flag Means Death) and Robbie Gee (Black Ops).

“We are thrilled and excited to be returning to Mandy with the peerless Diane Morgan,” said Josh Cole, Head of Comedy at BBC Studios.

The 6 x 15minute show is a BBC Studios Comedy/Witchcraft Industries co-production and was commissioned for BBC Two and BBC iPlayer by Jon Petrie, Director of BBC Comedy Commissioning.

The series is produced by Kenny Tanner. The Executive Producer is Ben Caudell. The Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Seb Barwell. BBC Studios are the international distributors of series one, two and three of Mandy.
