Manchester agency Creative Concern is part of a team that has been shortlisted to design the new £25 million Ross Pavilion in the heart of Edinburgh.

The international team is led by New York-based architects wHY and Creative Concern will be providing expertise on place making and branding, particularly for cultural destinations.

The Ross Pavilion International Design Competition attracted entries from 125 teams made up of 400 individual firms. The seven finalist teams will now create concept design for a new landmark Pavilion, visitor centre and updates to the listed West Princes Street Gardens in the heart of Edinburgh.

The Ross Pavilion will replace the existing bandstand and is positioned below Edinburgh Castle. The location is the seasonal focus for some of Scotland’s most high-profile events and celebrations.

The project is being managed by the Ross Development Trust  – a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. The winning team is set to be announced in early August which construction to begin in 2018.
