CITV outlines production wishlist

CITV says it is looking for scripted live action series, game shows and craft series for transmission in 2020.

It’s outlined a series of programmes that it’s looking to commission from UK producers.

The Live Action scripted series can be comedy or drama and will be a run of 13 x 30minute episodes. They are looking for a single camera show, shot outside of London.

It wants up to 13 x 30 minutes of a physical game or challenge show, which could be filmed in a studio, or on location. “Ideas could range from the very physical and super-competitive formats to comedy-based slap-stick series with big rewards and hilarious forfeits.”

Finally, the studio-based “brand-defining” craft series should be aimed at the YouTube generation of 10 years olds, but will need to “over deliver against what they typically see online in this space.”

Indies may be able to access funding to produce the series through the Young Audiences Content Fund which is managed by the BFI, awarding UK government funding.

“CITV is thrilled to support the Young Audiences Content Fund and to be working in tandem with the BFI on an initiative that will deliver more high quality, UK-produced kids television than could be achieved without it,” said Paul Mortimer, ITV’s Director of Digital Channels.

“We look forward to taking receipt of ideas that will enlighten and entertain our core audience of 6-12yr olds.”
