Channel 5 goes behind the scenes at Cleveland Police force

Mentorn Media is making a new series of Inside the Force: 24/7 for Channel 5.

The 12-part series will follow the officers of Cleveland Police at the Middlesbrough Police Station.

The region has the highest crime rate in the country, with the highest rate of firearms offences and the second highest rates for knife crime.

“This is a gritty and unflinching look at the realities of policing in an area with the highest crime rates in the country,” said Tayte Simpson, Executive Producer, Mentorn Media.

Across the series incidents include tackling a man with a knife who seriously stabs three officers; an attempted murder with a stabbing of a teenager; and drive-by shooting through the windows of a terraced house.

“It’s great to be back as we go ‘behind the scenes’ of a new force, Cleveland Police, as they fight crime across Middlesbrough,” added Adrian Padmore, Commissioning Editor at Channel 5 and Paramount+.

“This no holds barred third series, exposes the very shocking realities facing police in modern Britain and the need for rapid reactions when tensions reach boiling point.”

Inside the Force: 24/7 S3 is a 12 x 60’ series and will be executive produced by Tayte Simpson, with Series Producer Philippa Bradley and Series Edit Producer Helen White.

“Cleveland Police is excited for the public to see the relentless hard work of our officers and staff, with the chance to demonstrate what a challenging, yet rewarding, role working in policing can be,” stated Mark Webster, Chief Constable at Cleveland Police.
