New Moon Studios in York created a unique virtual reality experience, to promote breast cancer awareness.

The installation was part of CoppaFeel!’s Festifeel event, with celebrities including Lauren Laverne, Giovanna Fletcher and Busted donning a headset and grabbing virtual boobs.
CoppaFeel! was founded by Kris Hallenga, who was diagnosed with cancer at 23. Having successfully recovered from her first round of treatment, she now hopes to inspire young people to take charge of their health.
“We were delighted when we were approached by Happy Ending Agency to take part in this year’s festival. Kris has such an inspirational story, we were delighted to help support this year’s festival,” said Andy Nye, founder of New Moon Studios.
Festifeel is an annual event and runs as part of a wider campaign to promote regular breast exams and early diagnosis.
“As soon as we thought of using VR, I knew that New Moon were the perfect people to create it for us. They turned around the project in just a few weeks and created an outstanding concept that truly embodied the spirit and fun of the festival,” added Ross Popejoy, founder of Happy Ending.
The game will now get a full release on PC with a mobile version to follow. 60% of the profits from the game will be donated to Coppafeel to help them continue to raise awareness.
