Epix Media has worked alongside major Lincolnshire potato supplier Branston, to develop Nanna Tate, a new brand of fresh and prepared potato products which is now available in Tesco stores nationwide.
The strategic branding project encompassed naming, visual identity and packaging design. With a focus on recreating the nostalgia evoked by the best potato dishes, Nanna Tate builds on Branston’s 50 plus years of potato expertise, adding a modern twist while tapping into the enduring love that Brits have for the humble spud.
Branston has also been working with Leeds agency Tall on the digital side of the new spud range’s lauch.

Will King, co-director at Epix said: “We developed Nanna Tate’s packaging to vibrantly stand out in both fresh and prepared fixtures – bringing new energy to family favourites with a modern twist.”
Lucia Washbrook, sales and marketing director at Branston added: “Nanna Tate aims to inspire modern mealtimes, bringing people together round the table to make new happy memories. So that’s where our potato expertise comes in – making potatoes the star of the show so people can enjoy those moments in the here and now.”
The brand launches with prominent placement across 450 Tesco stores, bringing a bold new visual approach to the potato category. Nanna Tate offers shoppers an accessible way to lift their dinnertime experience.
King added: “We were involved right at the start of the development of the Nanna Tate brand and we’re thrilled to finally be able to see it in shopper’s baskets. Working with Branston to bring a brave vision to life has been hugely exciting.”
Branston is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of potatoes for leading retailers and wholesalers, as well as providing seed for potato growers. It has sites in Lincoln, Scotland and the South West, with Lincoln also being the home of its award-winning prepared foods factory.
