The BBC has released a chilling 10-second trailer for the new series of Bafta-winning Happy Valley.

Sarah Lancashire is back as police sergeant Catherine Cawood when Sally Wainwright’s drama returns to BBC1.

The new – very short – trailer for series two shows Catherine is still haunted by her daughter’s death and by the existence of the man she deems responsible.

The trailer shows her walking out of a courthouse, with the phrase “never goes away, does it? He’ll never go away” echoing in her head. Chilling stuff.

Happy Valley is set in the Calder Valley in West Yorkshire and is made by the Salford-based Red Production Company for the BBC. Dock 10 in Media City are doing post production on the series.

It pulled in a consolidated audience of almost 8 million and was named best drama series at the Baftas, with Lancashire winning the acting category at the RTS awards.

The new series will have six episodes.
