BBC Introducing Live 2023 to launch in Manchester in October

BBC Introducing has announced the return of its highly anticipated, flagship music discovery event – BBC Introducing Live – with a new format to support more young musicians, creatives, and industry talent across the UK.

This year’s edition of BBC Introducing Live is taking place from Wednesday October 11 – Saturday October 14 and promises to be bigger, bolder, and more inspiring than ever before, as it spans across Manchester, London and Cardiff.

BBC Introducing Live will host a range of activities from educational panels featuring industry veterans to immersive workshops that delve into the intricacies of the music industry, plus a full schedule of live performances and opportunities for unsigned artists to practice their performing skills.

BBC Introducing Live will also host ‘feedback centres’ providing constructive feedback on demos and work in progress, empowering young creatives to refine and elevate their craft.

BBC Introducing has this year partnered with Beyond The Music Festival in Manchester, the Roundhouse Rising Festival in London, and Wales Millennium Centre’s Llais festival in Cardiff to bring the mix of live performances, workshops, open mic events, open deck sessions and feedback centres or BBC Introducing Live to life.

The event kicks off in Manchester with BBC Introducing Live with Beyond The Music Festival, from Wednesday 11 – Thursday 12 October.

The changemaking conference and new music festival will find BBC Introducing curating a panel about UK music’s talent pipeline and the development of new artists, featuring industry entrepreneurs, execs and artists. Plus there will be a day of live music at the iconic Band on the Wall venue showcasing the cutting-edge talent and eclectic mix of genres that reflect the thriving Manchester music scene and its cultural renaissance.

Acts already confirmed include July 7, Wooze, Walt Disco, Cody Frost & L’Objectif. Finally, there will be an open decks session for aspiring DJs offering a unique chance to spin tracks and share their musical soundscape with a live audience.

The party then moves onto London until October 14, with an additional live event in Cardiff on Friday October 13.

Kelly Betts, editor, BBC Music Introducing said: “The return of BBC Introducing Live marks a pivotal moment in the calendar for the music industry. BBC Introducing are 100 per cent committed to providing a nurturing environment where young artists and creatives can find their voices, learn from industry experts, and connect with peers who share their passion. This event is ongoing testament to the enduring power of music to unite, inspire, and shape our culture.”
