All Creatures helps My5 achieve record growth

Channel 5’s streaming service, My5 had a record level of growth in 2024 according to new figures from Barb.

Original shows, including All Creatures Great and Small helped the platform increase viewing minutes by 53% year on year.

That compares to BBC iPlayer +24%; ITVX +22%; Channel 4 +15% over the same period.

“2024 was a huge year for My5 as our viewers really discovered the depth of content, particularly our Channel 5 dramas, that we have on the service,” said Channel 5’s Chief Content Officer, Ben Frow.

“We know that audiences increasingly want to switch seamlessly between streaming and linear TV and that’s why in March we are relaunching both our services under the combined brand of 5 with a significantly greater range of programming on offer.”

Its number one most watched single show was My Wife, My Abuser. Non-scripted hits were Phillip Schofield: Castaway; Cause of Death; Revenge and Home and Away.

The Paramount platform also had success over the Christmas period with the All Creatures Great and Small special being its top performing show across the 25th and 26th December.

My5 is set to relaunched this March as Channel 5 and My5 come together under a new unified parent brand of “5” across linear, streaming and digital platforms.

As part of the relaunch as 5, the streaming service will get a significantly expanded content offer – with additional boxsets and shows from across the wider Paramount group.

Paramount said the streaming service would also have an upgraded user experience and enhanced data-led advertising opportunities.
