AKA North has been appointed by Derby Theatre and will provide graphic design services for the East Midlands venue for the next two years.
The Manchester office of the international advertising agency won the account in a competitive pitch and has been briefed to create original and innovative key art for a range of productions, to be used across all indoor, outdoor, media and online marketing.
Previously known as Derby Playhouse, the theatre has a long and rich history of delivering high quality drama to audiences, with two theatre spaces under one roof. Arts Council England will be boosting its funding by 59% over the next four years, meaning more productions and more work with the local community and young people.
Emma Hogan, the theatre’s head of marketing, said: “I am incredibly excited to begin work with the team at AKA North. I have no doubt their industry expertise and enthusiasm will help drive the Derby Theatre brand forward and enable us to deliver fresh and innovative campaigns.”
Gillian Thomson-Woolley (pictured), MD at AKA North, added: “I am delighted that AKA North has been successful in the competitive tender to deliver original creative for Derby Theatre’s productions. We are really excited to be working with Emma and the team and look forward to producing engaging creative that help drive footfall and tickets sales to this amazing venue.”
AKA North also works with the likes of Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, West Yorkshire Playhouse and Storyhouse Chester.
