The Manchester BBC Creative team, which until late last year was headed up by now-Meanwhile Agency chiefs James Cross and Tim Jones, aka Tim and James, has picked up four nominations at this year’s British Arrows awards.

A highlight of the creative and advertising industries’ annual calendar, for over forty years British Arrows has been championing, awarding and celebrating the innovation, bravery and artistry of moving image advertising.

The four nominations for the Manchester team line up alongside over 50 total nominations for BBC creations or co-creations, and include a campaign for Peaky Blinders alongside Manchester street artist Akse, whose Northern Quarter mural of late Joy Division singer Ian Curtis hit the headlines last summer when it was removed in favour of an ad for fellow Manchester rapper Aitch’s new album, and a well received campaign promoting women in sport which was nominated alongside the team’s Winter Olympics ‘Extreme by Nature’ campaign in the Entertainment and Sport Promotions category.

Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Cross said: “Woo hoo! Four nominations at British Arrows for our previous BBC Creative work. Buzzing for the old team Tim Jones Reuben Dangoor Stuart Gittings Sam Pavey Matt Totterdell Elizabeth Dolan Aron Sidhu Steven Lownes Tom Flynn (and Patch)!”
