A new female-founded creative agency for the entertainment, gaming and tech industries has launched in Liverpool this week.

Aurora, founded during the Coronavirus imposed lockdown by Dawn Paine and Valerie Bounds, has a hybrid working model and is headquartered in Liverpool with an office in Toronto, Canada.

The agency plans to foster new talent to ensure more women and those from underrepresented communities are able to access the creative industry.

It works alongside a number of brands including Edge, Lego Ventures, The Official Charts Company, redwigwam and the University of Liverpool.

Both founders bring more than 25 years of experience each to the new agency. Paine has worked for global brands including Universal Pictures and Nintendo UK while Bounds has built and led teams for major agencies including Ogilvy, Code Computerlove, Music and Uniform.

Valerie Bounds (pictured right), Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder, said: “We want to work with the best, and most creative talent and we can do that through our collective model - this makes Aurora cost effective and lean.  As well as our core creative team we try to bring an eclectic mix of unexpected people for a fresh perspective on each brief - that might mean working with academics, futurists, DJs, sci-fi writers.”

Dawn Paine (pictured left), Chief Executive Officer and co-founder, added: “Val and I have decades of experience to support both our clients and our global team. And we’re very proud to be female founders in a world where sadly only 1% of creative agencies are female founded. We want to be part of changing that statistic.”
