Wavemaker North has restructured its Manchester team and launched a new full-service content and creative team.

Managing partner Simon Jones will move from his previous role as joint head of planning to lead the team, which is comprised of 10 content and creative specialists.

The new team, called WM Content, will focus on content strategy, content production, social media, influencer marketing and digital PR.

Wavemaker said that after a number of new client wins, including Princes Foods, Europcar and Homeserve, “the time is right” to restructure. The agency also won Content Team of the Year at the Prolific North Awards 2019.

Simon Jones, managing partner at Wavemaker North, said: “Clients are increasingly looking for high quality, cost effective solutions when it comes to content. Our new content proposition is born from this need and is rooted in how we wrap our creative, social, influencer and digital PR expertise around Wavemaker’s proprietary purchase journey thinking. We believe it’s an industry leading approach to content.

“What’s more, we are ready to hit the ground running. The team is in place, with fresh talent also being added, and some forward-facing clients are already on board. To say we’re excited about this new offering is a massive understatement.”

Joining Jones in the team’s leadership restructure is business director Lee Benecke.

WPP-owned Wavemaker, which was formed in 2017 by the merger of MEC and Maxus, has 7,600 employees in 90 countries and in 2018 reported billings of $13.1bn.
