Are you immersed in the digital world? This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of Digital Marketing eager to advance their career within a successful digital agency located in the north-west.

As the leader of a skilled team of consultants, the role will involve creating digital marketing strategies and campaigns for a diverse clientele.  You will be an integral part of the management team, contributing to the agency's direction and strategy, with an opportunity that over time you will progress to join the board of directors.

With your in-depth knowledge of digital marketing, you will serve as a central figure, inspiring and guiding your team. This position is perfect for those currently in a similar role looking to develop their digital strategy expertise and leadership skills.

This position is not just strategic but also hands-on. You will be in charge of ensuring the delivery of services and will actively participate in client presentations and lead strategic discussions. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset paired with a practical approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, plan and oversee digital marketing strategies for current and potential clients using all necessary tools and channels (e.g. PPC, SEO, PR, CRO, website, email, social media and content).   Know how to apply a multi-channel marketing mix when planning client campaigns
  • Analyse performance metrics to draw meaningful conclusions and identify potential opportunities for improvement
  • Identify trends and insights from market, audience and competitor data to inform growth strategies. Research products, services and strategies to identify new opportunities
  • Lead, motivate and nurture a team of talented heads of department (across PR, SEO, Content and Paid). Ensure we get the most out of each discipline and work closely with them to find the most effective techniques, channels and optimisations to grow our clients businesses
  • Lead and promote a forward thinking culture across the organisation, identifying and equipping the digital delivery team with the skills and systems to maximise their performance
  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate. Provide best practice digital marketing guidance
  • Identify opportunities to improve digital processes and infrastructure and develop recommendations for transforming the agency offering, championing the continuous improvement and development of our digital services
  • Support business development with insights and strategic recommendations during sales process
  • Act as our digital authority in consultancy work, participating regularly in client meetings and pitches
  • Attend / speak at networking & industry events, acting as the company’s digital authority
  • Work with client services to establish client objectives and key performance metrics

The Successful Applicant

  • Solid senior agency experience, preferably as head of digital or a relevant management position for a digital agency. A minimum of 9 years' experience in digital marketing with experience managing a team of digital consultants
  • Agency experience will be essential to head up an agency based marketing team.
  • Key member of the management team, with input into agency direction and strategy
    A creative ‘marketing head’ able to brainstorm and generate ideas for campaigns and pitches
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrable record of success in digital marketing in a fast-paced environment
  • Great hands on leader of a high performing team and an exceptional influencer.  Share your experience and knowledge through coaching and developing your team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to confidently challenge constructively at all levels including management.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, draw actionable insights, and optimise campaigns effectively. Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement. Expertise in Google Analytics.
