Kathryn Jacob, CEO of London-based cinema advertising agency Pearl & Dean, has been named as HOME’s new chair.

The arts centre in Manchester has also appointed two new trustees, Dr Ruth Bromley and Sita McIntosh – former COO of WhatsOnStage – who join alongside Jacob, and succeed Karl Jackson and Stephen Sorrell.

Jacob will take over the senior role from Jonty Claypole, the BBC’s Director of Arts. She has been CEO of Pearl & Dean since 2006 and previously held roles including Commercial Director of Virgin Radio.

She is a member of RADA’s development board; the Advertising Association’s council and board – as well as its workstream on Inclusion; and the Executive Council of the worldwide trade body for cinema advertising SAWA.

“HOME Manchester has been a real force in developing and nurturing artistic talent and creativity across all art forms and it is a great honour to be joining the team as new chair of the board,” said Kathryn Jacob.

“Being a part of HOME feels like the perfect fit and we share a lot of similar values in terms of encouraging diversity in the industry and the importance of empowering individuals to have a voice creatively.”

Dave Moutrey, HOME Director and CEO, added: “It is a great pleasure to welcome our new chair and trustees to HOME.

“They bring with them an exceptional set of skills and experience, and all share HOME’s commitments around tackling inequality, supporting health and wellbeing, and developing great artists and art.”
