Marketing Manchester and Invest Manchester have appointed Meanwhile to launch a new campaign aimed at spotlighting Greater Manchester’s thriving creative industries sector, and today launch a comedy short designed to capture the attention of the global creative industry.
Titled Home of Everything, the new campaign leverages the region as one of Europe’s fastest-growing creative industry hubs, and builds on a longstanding reputation for creativity, innovation and talent in the city region.
It comes at a time when Greater Manchester is increasingly at the heart of discussions about the future of the UK, from economic growth to culture.

The multi-channel campaign is led by the film which showcases the scale and diversity of the region’s creative industry sector through a self-effacing comedy, featuring local comedians in a day-long brainstorming session at a fictional ad agency.
The mockumentary namedrops some of the biggest creative brands and individuals associated with the region, with a series of sector-specific edits covering some of the region’s most exciting creative talent and success stories across film and TV, music, design and advertising, animation, fashion, and gaming.
Victoria Braddock, managing director of Marketing Manchester, said: “Greater Manchester has always been a region where creative ideas thrive, and Home of Everything is our opportunity to share this ambition, inviting creatives and businesses to discover the opportunities on offer as one of Europe’s most exciting and fast-growing creative clusters. This campaign celebrates the strength of that creative ecosystem and the distinctive spirit that makes Greater Manchester a compelling place to create, collaborate and grow, while helping showcase our creative industries to investors, businesses and decision-makers in the UK and internationally.”
The campaign has been developed to align with Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Creative Industries Sector Development Plan and will run over the next 12 months, combining activity across Greater Manchester with a targeted digital programme and a range of supporting content.
Assets will be deployed across major domestic and international events, helping to showcase Greater Manchester’s creative strengths to key audiences around the world.
Created by an all-Manchester production team, the film was produced by Chief Productions, and directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Chris Cottam.
James Cross, Founder and CCO of Meanwhile, said: “The civic pride that went into this was something else. The whole project was a labour of love for us, because we all believe in this region of ours beyond what is rational, frankly. It was important for us to do something unexpected and stand-out, not only to grab attention and hold it, but because it’s also what our region radiates.”
Greater Manchester’s creative industries sector employs more than 100,000 people and is home to the largest cluster of creative businesses outside London. The sector plays a central role in the region’s economic growth and international profile, with global brands including Adidas, Marvel, PlayStation and Disney all developing creative ideas in the region
