New Leeds agency to specialise in rural lifestyle and tourism

A former Dogs Trust and London Zoo press officer has set up a new specialist agency in Leeds.

Rhiannon Bates was most recently Senior PR Manager at ilk, but has also worked at The Woodland Trust, as well as spending almost 5 years working as VIP/Celebrity Liaison and Press Officer for the Zoological Society of London.

She explained that she’d established Garnet PR to support rural businesses and charities across the UK.

“With current trends encouraging people to step away from their screens and get outdoors or connect with nature, there’s never been a better time for rural businesses to thrive.

“Rural brands and attractions can help people connect with the countryside and heritage through products or experiences. And with staycations and support for British brands on the rise, the time has never been better to celebrate them.”

The agency will offer PR, social media, blogs and celebrity and influencer engagement.

It’s currently working with The Little Tweed Co., The Wriggly Tin Wine Company, equestrian book specialist Jane Badger Books and Grimsthorpe Castle.
