Newcastle software giant Sage Group has credited AI for a healthy growth spurt as revenue’s cleared the £2.5bn mark in today’s results for the year to September 30 2025.
The update showed statutory operating profit was 17 per cent up at £530 million on the back of revenue rising eight per cent to £2.513bn.
Sage Group added that it is “well positioned” for growth as demand for its smart systems grows, and that its Copilot-branded financial and accounting automation assistant and artificial intelligence agents are “creating significant opportunity” for success.
Chief executive Steve Hare hailed the results at the North East business, which was named the number one company in North Tyneside by turnover at The NET 250, was primed for growth: “Sage delivered another good performance in FY25. Strong, broad-based revenue growth and significant margin expansion reflect our focus on strategic execution, our resilient business model, and continuing investment in our products, our platform and our people,” he said.

Sage Group has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1989, and began entering international markets in earnest during the early 1990s.
Today, the firm, which runs operations from North Tyneside’s Cobalt Business Park, serves millions of customers across countries in mainland Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia and Latin America. It has a second Northern UK base in Manchester, as well as further offices in London, Bristol and Wokingham.
