Leeds-based Finn has been appointed by Grant Thornton as its retained PR partner.

The agency has been hired to service the company’s Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield offices following a tender process and is helping to drive awareness through a programme that includes both media and stakeholder relations.

Grant Thornton has primarily tasked Finn with implementing its national Vibrant Economy agenda in the Yorkshire and North East regions, which aims to work with cities, communities and the corporate, public and third sectors to develop new ways to identify and drive a range of growth opportunities.

Finn will also support Grant Thornton’s focus on priority service areas as well as publicising news in the regional media and increasing visibility of the firm within the business community.

Andy Wood, managing partner at Grant Thornton in Leeds, said: “This is a hugely exciting time for Grant Thornton as we continue to establish ourselves as a category-of-one firm with a differentiated offer from others in our sector.

“Finn clearly stood out to us as an agency that thinks strategically, has first rate media and stakeholder contacts and one that can really help us succeed in our objectives.

“We are delighted with the positive way our partnership has started and are looking forward to working with Finn as we embark on the next phase of growth.”

Ian Briggs, head of media relations at Finn, said: “Grant Thornton is an organisation that we’ve been wanting to partner with for several years and as such we’re thrilled to have been selected as its PR partner in Yorkshire and the North East.

“The firm’s Vibrant Economy agenda is genuinely making a difference and Finn is looking forward to further supporting this important initiative over the coming months.”
