Remote working move helps SysGroup to record results

Managed IT services and cloud hosting provider SysGroup has posted record revenues and profits in its latest results.

The Liverpool-headquartered company made £19.5m in the year to March 31st 2020, up 53% on last year, and almost doubled its profits to £2.8m.

Led by CEO Adam Binks (pictured), SysGroup has seen increased demand from companies undergoing digital transformation, a trend which it says grew “dramatically” with the onset of lockdown and the need for customers to rapidly implement remote working.

SysGroup has also grown through the acquisition last June of managed connectivity company Hub Network Services (HNS), following its earlier purchase of Certus Technology Group.

Binks said: “While there is still some uncertainty around the impact of COVID-19, we believe it has presented us with significant opportunities.

“We have seen an accelerated shift towards remote working solutions for our customers, alongside a decentralisation of their core IT infrastructure towards more flexible and more resilient configurations. Investment in the appropriate cloud technology is becoming ever more mission-critical for businesses to survive and thrive.”

Over the course of the year, SysGroup has expanded its executive leadership team with the appointments of Nick Guite as Chief Sales Officer, Andrew Vize as Chief Marketing Officer and Paul Brown as Chief Technology Officer.
