Event Details

Amman Ahmed is a 36-year-old entrepreneur from Leeds. Amman successfully founded Music for Pets in 2017.

Music for Pets provides (you guessed it) music aimed at cats and dogs, serving more than 20 million pets around the world who listen to more than 12 million hours of music each month. Their original music has since become a favourite companion for pets and their owners around the globe.

Amman built ‘The Netflix for Pets’ despite being laughed out of the building by investors. Started with nothing but a wild idea and £1000 of his own money, he scaled the business to a multi-million-pound international business through his own determination.  This year the business was sold to Create Music Group, one of the world’s leading music and entertainment companies, for an undisclosed sum.

Amman has experience on both sides of the coin, both as a bootstrapper founder and a VC backed founder. What became his most successful venture so far, Music for Pets, was a side hustle for years while he was the founder of another VC backed music discovery app that failed.

Amman will be speaking to Nick Shepherd about his journey from start-up to exit, his successes, his failures and what’s next.

There will be time for audience questions after the event.
