Middlesbrough-based Animmersion is working on another project for Sirius Minerals, helping to visualise the installation of the mining company’s first 1,800-tonne tunnel boring machine.

Sirius is overseeing the UK’s biggest mining project for a generation as it seeks to mine potash – which is used to make fertiliser products – from beneath the North York Moors.

It’s been working with Animmersion for the last 12 months to create 3D animations of the engineering process involved in constructing a 23-mile mineral transportation tunnel from Wilton to Whitby.

Sirius uses the animations to educate and inform the public and investors about the unique engineering challenges associated with the project.
