For Hedgehog Lab, it was very much a case of growing out of their old office. Having experienced growth of over 100% for three consecutive years, the team found themselves struggling to book dedicated rooms to conduct meetings with clients and colleagues.

The office was opened in late 2017 and serves as an extension on to their other office inside Generator Studios. Metnor Property tended to the fit out. Design, flooring and furniture were arranged by AMH Workspace.

Dale Jones, a Marketing Strategist at Hedgehog Lab, told us why the space is so inspiring…

“Though a bright, relaxed and spacious environment, it is undoubtedly the versatility of our new office space that makes it an inspiring place to work.

“Considerable thought has been given not only to designing a space for the functional needs of Hedgehog Lab’s team, but also to how the space could encourage and inspire a more collaborative, inclusive and engaging method of working.”

Where is it?

Generator Studios, Trafalgar Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2L

How big is it?

The office was opened in late 2017 and serves as an extension on to our other office inside Generator Studios.

Our new office contains eight dedicated meeting rooms, two of which are pre-equipped for video conferencing. This has assisted in not only establishing more professional relationships with our customers but also in strengthening relations between our Newcastle team and those in India, the United States and London.

Our first office also lacked a dedicated events space, limiting our community outreach, internal knowledge sharing and thought leadership efforts. In our new office, a bespoke tiered seating block has been installed and provides the perfect home to conduct team meetings as well as talks with school and university groups. The space has also allowed us to establish the region’s leading regular innovation event, Innovate Now, as well as providing a set space for the use of our immersive equipment.

What happens there?

Hedgehog Lab is a global digital product consultancy that designs and builds software for the world’s best businesses.

We partner with businesses looking to harness the value of digital, helping them to discover, design, develop and scale exceptional digital experiences that deliver measurable results.

Who works there?

70 hedgehog lab staff currently make use of our office space. Additionally, we also welcome a range of clients (some of whom even use our office just for workshop days away from their own office!), event attendees, focus group participants and students regularly.
