Prodigal return as Lake District agency (re)hires new growth director

Lake District-HQ’d organic performance agency Digitaloft has announced that Olivia Smith will be returning to its senior leadership team as growth director.

Smith has spent just short of a decade in Digital PR and brings extensive experience scaling departments, leading strategies for global brands, and working across consultancy, digital PR, and beyond.

Before founding Northbound PR and working as a senior consultant, she served as digital PR director at none other than Digitaloft. She said: “The return to Digitaloft feels organic, and I’m very excited to be back”.

Smith will oversee Digitaloft’s marketing strategy and event portfolio, which includes heading up the Digital PR Summit, a leading UK digital PR conference. The Digital PR Summit kicked off in 2020, with its first in-person event in 2024 and has recently landed Digitaloft the Best Event award at the European Agency Awards in Ibiza.

After a recent strategic refocus for the agency’s core messaging and servicing, it has landed brands such as Emma, Delivita, Opera Beds and more. Smith is joining the ranks to support further agency growth.

She added: “Returning to Digitaloft is an exciting step for me. Having followed the agency’s impressive growth over the past few years away, it has been wonderful to see their continued success. The work produced by the team is some of the best in the business, and I am thrilled to re-join the team and help drive our future success even further.”

CEO and founder of Digitaloft, James Brockbank said: “Olivia has been a pivotal part of the agency’s growth in previous years, and we can’t wait to see what she does next in this new role at Digitaloft. She has years of experience and knowledge, and we know she will be an asset to our constantly evolving brand. Our marketing, sales and events are essential to our current growth strategy and having Olivia focus on this feels like an exciting next chapter for us”

Smith has previously won awards including Young Search Professional of the Year and Young Digital Marketer of the Year. She has worked for agencies across the UK and globally, including for SEO Sherpa in Dubai and two years running the agency’s London operation during her previous spell at Digitaloft.

The Digital PR Summit claims the title of the “UK’s largest dedicated digital PR conference,” bringing together more than 500 agency, freelance and in-house marketing professionals.
