Manchester PR and marketing agency Purple Riot has been appointed by multi-location independent café brand Bob & Berts to support its next phase of UK expansion.
The appointment will begin with Purple Riot leading the PR around the launch of the brand’s latest venue at Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington this month (August 2026).
Originally founded in Portstewart, Northern Ireland, in 2013, Bob & Berts has grown to 30 locations across Northern Ireland, Scotland and England, building a loyal following for its all-day dining offer and ‘Proper Coffee. Great Grub.’ brand proposition.
The new 3,000 sq ft Warrington venue will seat 135 guests and create 20 new jobs, as the business continues to grow its footprint across the UK.
Purple Riot has been tasked with delivering an integrated launch campaign spanning consumer and trade PR, media relations, creator engagement and experiential activity, with a programme of launch activity designed to drive awareness and footfall around the opening.
Nikki Kitchen, founder and managing director of Purple Riot, said: “Bob & Berts has built a brilliant brand and a loyal customer base across Northern Ireland and Scotland, so there’s a huge opportunity as it continues to grow its presence in England.
“For us, it’s about creating campaigns that introduce the brand to new audiences in a way that feels unmistakably Bob & Berts, combining strong media storytelling with creative activity that gets people talking and, ultimately, through the doors.
“Warrington is the first campaign and we’re really excited to be part of what comes next for the brand.”
The win further bolsters Purple Riot’s hospitality, retail, lifestyle and consumer portfolio, with the Manchester agency delivering integrated communications and creative campaigns for brands and destinations across the U including Manchester Arndale, Katie O’Brien’s and Bench Clothing.
