Sheffield hospitality and property tech branches out with Irish acquisition

ASK4, the Sheffield-HQ’d provider of digital infrastructure, connectivity and smart building solutions for multi-tenant buildings, has acquired IMS connect, an Irish provider of managed Wi-Fi and guest technology for the hospitality and serviced living sectors.

Through the acquisition, ASK4 deepens its technical expertise and sector relationships across its 13 operating markets as the business continues to grow, and consolidates its market leadership in Ireland, specifically in long-stay hospitality and serviced accommodation including hotels, serviced apartments, aparthotels, and co-living buildings.

Backed by GI Partners, ASK4 is executing a focused programme of strategic acquisitions to accelerate growth, enhance service capability, and deepen its presence across key real estate and hospitality markets. The latest acquisition follows those of ClearFibre (UK), mywire (Germany), and Parcel SafePlace (UK) in 2025.

Founded in Limerick, Ireland, IMS connect delivers high-quality technology solutions across hotels, serviced apartments and hospitality environments, spanning connectivity, managed Wi-Fi, voice solutions, smart TV technology, IPTV, casting, digital signage, and energy management solutions. Its client portfolio includes leading hospitality brands such as Staycity Group, Dalata Hotel Group, EDYN Group, Handpicked Hotels, Frasers Hospitality and the MHL Collection, among others.

Andrew Dutton, CEO of ASK4, said: “The acquisition of IMS connect is a landmark moment for ASK4. It opens an entirely new market for us in long-stay hospitality whilst also strengthening our presence in Ireland and across Europe. IMS connect has built something truly impressive over the past two decades – a loyal client base, a talented team, and a technology offering that is genuinely best-in-class for the hospitality sector. We are excited to welcome them to the ASK4 Group and to build on that foundation together.”

Leading the acquisition, Jon Thornhill, strategy and M&A Director of ASK4, added: “Our people have always understood the hospitality sector, from guest expectations and operational pressures to what investors and operators expect from their technology partners. What we have not had, until now, is the full capability to serve it. IMS connect changes that. It puts the right technology and service platform in the hands of a team that already knows the market, which means we can move fast and add immediate value for customers.”

Shane Hartigan, founder of newly acquired IMS connect, said: “Selling a business you have built from the ground up is never a decision taken lightly. However, from our first conversations it was clear that ASK4 shared our values, our customer-first approach and our ambition for the future. Bringing IMS connect into the ASK4 Group creates an exciting opportunity to integrate our hospitality expertise into ASK4’s market-leading digital infrastructure and smart building platform, extending those capabilities into new sectors and customer environments.

“I’m incredibly proud of what the IMS connect team has built and excited for the next chapter as we become part of ASK4 and continue delivering exceptional experiences for customers across hospitality and living sectors.”

The IMS connect leadership team will remain with the business as it integrates into ASK4, ensuring continuity for customers and employees throughout the transition. During this period, services will operate under IMS connect by ASK4 as products as capabilities are progressively integrated into ASK4’s wider platform.
