Brand and communications agency BrandXYZ has secured a new partnership with Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, part of the NHS, following a competitive pitch.
The appointment marks BrandXYZ’s first NHS project and will see the agency support a major programme designed to bring Greater Manchester businesses together, under the the existing Get Cancer Clever banner, to help drive earlier cancer diagnosis and support those affected by cancer.
Too many cancers are still diagnosed at a late stage, where treatment can often be less effective. The opportunity lies in working with employers, who are uniquely placed to reach large, diverse audiences through trusted internal channels and influence everyday behaviours.

BrandXYZ’s approach uses a September employer event as a catalyst for lasting workplace change, supported by insight, business engagement, a clear Employer Pledge and a practical framework to help organisations raise awareness and encourage earlier action across their workforce.
The activity will culminate in the September event at the People’s History Museum, bringing together businesses from across Greater Manchester to commit to action and help build momentum beyond a single moment in time.
Speaking about the appointment, Jo Taylor, Founder and Director at BrandXYZ, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be supporting such an important project across our home city region, and to be working with Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance as our first NHS partner.
“While we recognised the Alliance had already created a strong idea in bringing businesses together through the event, we knew we needed to go further to create lasting behavioural change. By developing a programme of activity before, during and beyond the event, we can help educate businesses and support them and their employees in tackling cancer and its impact in the workplace.”
Commenting on the project, Alison Jones, Director of Cancer Commissioning & Early Diagnosis said: “What stood out in BrandXYZ’s response was a clear understanding of what we’re trying to achieve. The approach was strategic and went beyond the initial event brief, focusing on how we create something that has lasting impact for employers and their people. That combination of insight, clarity and practical thinking is exactly what we need to help turn this into a meaningful movement across Greater Manchester.”
The appointment reflects BrandXYZ’s growing reputation for delivering strategic communications and engagement programmes that support behaviour change and tackle complex challenges.
