Dishoom Hatches local agency plan for Leeds debut

Leeds and London-based creative communications agency Hatch has been appointed by high-end Indian restaurant group, Dishoom, for its eagerly anticipated opening in Leeds.

Following a competitive pitch process, Hatch has been appointed to deliver PR, experiential, content, and community engagement activity to drive awareness of the opening and firmly cement Dishoom’s place within the Leeds hospitality scene.

The Bombay-inspired café officially opens on Vicar Lane, Leeds, on 14th August, with a soft-launch period beginning a little earlier on 3rd August.

Since it was founded 18 years ago, Hatch has accrued a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector, both locally in Leeds as well as nationally, with its client portfolio including the likes of Six by Nico, San Carlo, Restaurant Bar & Grill and Piccolino.

Most recently, Hatch was also appointed by The Ivy Collection to deliver always-on PR, influencer, and experiential activity for 11 of its restaurants across the North of England, Midlands and Scotland.

Emily Clapperton, account director at Hatch, who leads its food & beverage division, said: “Leeds is such a foodie city, and so understandably there has been a huge amount of buzz and excitement around Dishoom arriving in Leeds ever since word got out last year. The appetite for Dishoom Leeds is real testament to the reputation that the brand has built for itself across its other venues – and we look forward to working with Dishoom to continue this legacy as it opens the doors to its first Yorkshire site.”

Yasmin Bailey, head of new openings at Dishoom, added: “We’re so pleased to be working with such a long-standing, locally connected and trusted agency like Hatch for our Leeds opening. One of our biggest priorities is to truly embed ourselves within the community, and Hatch’s expertise, relationships and understanding of the city are helping us do exactly that. We’ve already received such a warm welcome from people across Leeds, and we’re looking forward to working with Hatch to introduce ourselves to even more of our new neighbours and, we hope, become part of the fabric of this brilliant city.”
