Manchester tech provider grows to 75 with fifth acquisition in three years

Novem, a Manchester-headquartered managed IT, cyber resilience and telecoms provider, has acquired Intalect, a managed IT services provider based in Hinkley, Leicestershire, the group’s fifth acquisition as it continues to build scale and capability across its national platform.

Led by entrepreneurs Alex Heslip and Chris Earle, Novem’s growth strategy combines organic expansion with targeted acquisitions to “strengthen regional service delivery and create long-term value for SME clients across the UK.”

Intalect, founded in 2004 and based in Leicestershire, delivers managed IT services including cybersecurity, disaster recovery, VOIP and more. Intalect have a history of helping businesses embrace technology whilst maximising their digital security, bringing enterprise level expertise to SME tailored support and solutions.

The integration strengthens Novem’s national delivery model, expanding both coverage and capability. By uniting the two teams, the group adds engineering capacity and specialist expertise to provide broader, end-to-end IT and technology support for customers across the UK.

Since completing its first acquisition in 2023 alongside Independence Capital and UK private credit investor TDC, Novem has continued to expand its regional presence and invest in skills, infrastructure and long-term job creation. This has resulted in the group growing to over 75 people, supporting over 8,100 people across a number of UK businesses. The addition of Intalect reinforces this trajectory further, strengthening the group’s proposition for small and mid-sized businesses across the UK.

Richard Hamilton, co-founder and firector of Intalect, said: “From day one, Intalect was built around providing enterprise-level IT and support to UK SMEs, and Novem shares that exact mindset. Becoming part of the group gives our customers access to an enhanced range of services without losing the quality or care they value. It’s a strong platform for the next phase of growth.”

Alex Heslip, CEO of Novem, added: “The addition of Intalect has added significant scale to our Midlands credentials, bringing valuable additional skills and strong customer relationships. We’re very excited about the opening of our new Midlands ‘Hub’ office in Coventry, where our people will collaborate and deliver industry leading service from.

The announcement follows Novem’s brand refresh and the launch of its new website, www.novem.co.uk.
