UK’s largest retro gaming market back in Sheffield this weekend

There are just three days remaining to get your advance tickets to the UK’s biggest and longest-running retro gaming market, Replay Events‘ Video Game Market, which is returning to Sheffield following the success of its debut Sheffield event last year. on Sunday.

The event, which attracted 2,800 people in its first year year, will return to Ponds Forge Leisure Centre in June, offering visitors the chance to find a variety of retro games, consoles and accessories.

Having held events in London, Glasgow, Cardiff and Birmingham, among other locations – and drawing over 300,000 visitors since 2014 – Replay will make the Sheffield Video Game Market its flagship Yorkshire event, building on the city’s pioneering role in video gaming in the UK.

Sheffield’s gaming heritage dates back to 1984, following the breakthrough titles of Gremlin Graphics. Today, that legacy continues with Sumo Digital, founded in 2003 by veterans of Gremlin Interactive, which has since grown into one of the country’s largest game developers. The city has long embodied the evolution of video games in the UK – exemplified by the National Video Game Museum calling Sheffield home.
