MoneySuperMarket has created the first UK financial services ChatGPT app.
It comes after its parent group, MONY, saw its share price fall last week over AI competition fears.
The launch of the app has come fast according to an email to all staff from MONY Group PLC CEO Peter Duffy:
“… overnight we got the green light from OpenAI in San Francisco to switch on the MoneySuperMarket ChatGPT app – we believe the first financial services company in the UK to do so. The new ChatGPT app allows users to access MoneySuperMarket services directly within the ChatGPT interface, creating a conversational way to search, compare and find deals, without leaving the chat.”
The app has been designed to allow users to access the company’s services directly with the ChatGPT interface.

At launch features include –
- Automated car insurance quotes for MoneySuperMarket customers
- Car insurance quick estimates
- Tailored broadband deal searches and personalised speed suggestions
- Current account and savings search and comparisons
- Integrated access to MoneySuperMarket’s guides
“MoneySuperMarket exists to help customers find the best deals on their household bills, and our new ChatGPT app – the first in the UK financial services industry – is designed to give customers quick, personalised results through simple conversation,” explained Matt Cresswell, Chief Technology & Data Officer at MONY Group.
“Existing MoneySuperMarket customers can get an instant full quote for their car insurance, or with just five answers, new customers can get a car insurance estimate. Existing MoneySuperMarket customers can easily re-run quotes for cars using information they’ve already shared with MoneySuperMarket, and discover broadband deals tailored to their household needs and search for and compare current and savings accounts.”
Connecting MoneySuperMarket to ChatGPT is opt-in and the firm said that “data for quote journeys is ring-fenced within MoneySuperMarket, stored securely, and bound by our existing data protection and deletion processes.”
The share price is up 1.6% today.
