Bruntwood SciTech returns as Prolific North Partner for 2026

Bruntwood SciTech, the UK’s largest provider of workspace, scientific services and specialist support for the science, tech and innovation sectors, has been confirmed as a returning Prolific North Partner for 2026.

A joint venture between Bruntwood, Legal & General and Greater Manchester Pension Fund, Bruntwood SciTech supports life science, tech and innovation-led businesses with everything they need to grow by building ecosystems carefully curated to help startup, scale-up and global companies produce transformative innovation. It provides the ‘connective tissue’ between world-leading research universities, large hospital NHS Trusts, strong civic leadership and high-growth enterprise.

With a portfolio valuing £1.6bn and equating to 5.8m sq ft across a range of campus locations and city centre innovation hubs in Manchester, Cheshire, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Cambridge and London, Bruntwood SciTech now supports more than 1,450 companies with plans to grow their UK-wide community to 2,600 businesses by 2033.

2025 was a landmark year for Bruntwood SciTech, with the official opening of Citylabs 4.0, the £42m, 125,000 sq ft specialist lab and office space developed in joint venture with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Opening back in spring 2025, the building has already attracted major occupiers including FTSE100 medical technology company Convatec, which announced plans to establish a new R&D hub there as part of a £500m UK investment.

The business also completed a £4.3m investment into its Liverpool innovation hubs and announced the expansion of its West Village campus in Leeds with the redevelopment of 100 Wellington Street into 3 West Village, delivering 44,500 sq ft of flexible workspace.

Heading into 2026, Bruntwood SciTech has even bigger plans, and is already building on last year’s momentum with the doors soon set to open at the newly relaunched Pall Mall, its £30 million sustainable innovation hub on Manchester’s King Street, redeveloped for the modern era, and the return of its hugely successful Female Founders Incubator in Manchester and Leeds.

Hannah Churchman, Head of Innovation & Growth (Manchester), said: “Prolific North is the premier platform for the North of England’s tech, digital and creative sectors, and we’re excited to continue our partnership into 2026.

“As a key driving force for UK growth and innovation, Bruntwood SciTech is highly focused on supporting businesses to form, scale and grow. Our collaboration with Prolific North allows us to actively inspire and support the businesses of the future, and we look forward to a successful year ahead.”

Bruntwood SciTech joins a growing list of confirmed Prolific North Partners for 2026, including communications agency BIG Partnership.

Prolific North’s Partners will get the chance to feature on Prolific North throughout the year, join awards ceremonies, be a part of key industry events and contribute to wider conversations within the industry.
