Edinburgh-based Waracle, has made its first overseas acquisition with Hacksoft in Bulgaria.
The digital project consultancy said that the deal was a “signifiant milestone” in its growth strategy as it would create its first office outside of the UK and expand its team to 265.
Hacksoft was formed in 2017 and employs 55 staff in Sofia, specialising in a “holistic approach to quality software development.”
It set up its own training academy to help hundreds of developers launch their own careers, as well as launching one of Bulgaria’s largest tech conferences, HackConf. The firm is behind the open-source best practices document, Django Styleguide.

Waracle is backed by capital investor, BGF, and has offices in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee.
