Liverpool creative agency joins digital inclusion fight

Liverpool creative agency OneMay has teamed up with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and the Digital Inclusion Network to launch Helping You Online — a campaign tackling digital poverty across the region.

With seven million adults and one in five children in the UK living with digital poverty, the challenge is especially acute in Liverpool City Region, where more than 245,000 people lack essential digital skills and 127,000 still remain offline.

At the heart of the campaign is a free 80+ page booklet, designed to help residents build digital confidence, improve online safety, access healthcare, save money and connect with local support. Co-designed with members of the Digital Inclusion Network, it brings together trusted resources in one accessible guide – available both digitally and in print.

OneMay created the branding, booklet design, animations and social assets to support the rollout across the city region.

Rob Benson, digital inclusion lead at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, said: “The feedback from partners has been excellent and we’ve already allocated over 4,000 booklets to providers, with loads more being requested, so we’ll no doubt be putting in a new print order soon.”

Leah Ellis, marketing projects lead, added: “This will be a genuine game changer for some of our residents, and OneMay, as always, have knocked it out the park design wise.”

The booklet is being distributed via libraries, community centres and digital inclusion providers, with a wider campaign running online and offline in the coming weeks.
