Followed up by the groundbreaking bilingual project Reunion, a BBC-commissioned emotional revenge thriller using both British Sign Language and spoken English, penned by deaf writer William Mager and starring award-winning actor Matthew Gurney.

Speaking about the accolade, Mark Herbert, Founder and CEO of Warp Films, said: “This award is a real honour for the Warp Films team. We pride ourselves on telling stories that are bold, authentic and global with a very British perspective. Our company was built on the ethos that we are reasonable people, and our dramas have always been told with heart, integrity, with great characters at their core. We are incredibly proud to continue that legacy, working with top-tier talent and creating great British TV.”

When collecting the prestigious award, Mark was joined on stage by Warp Films Chief Creative Officer Emily Feller, COO & CFO Niall Shamma, Peter Balm who is Commercial Director, Head of Production Leo Martin and Senior Executive Producer Peter Carlton.

Earlier this year, the award-winning team announced they had acquired the rights to the 1980s nuclear war film Threads. With this, they outlined their ambitions to continue to add to their legacy by exploring prescient issues in the film through rich, character-driven storytelling.

Adoloscence itself was also among the winners this year, with a prize for Best Drama, while Scottish Black Comedy Baby Reindeer landed a Best Actor prize for Jessica Gunning, and Yorkshire soap Emmerdale picked up the Climate Storytelling Award.
