Bay Trust Radio, the hospital radio service for Morecambe Bay, has been given a grant to create a new state-of-the-art production studio.

The £8k will also enable volunteers to produce programming and news, as well as interview guests and hold live music sessions.

“We thank the Hospital League of Friends with all our hearts, they have supported us throughout our 40 year history. Without the support of them, we wouldn’t be where we are today to be able to complete our studio refurbishment and continue to build on our station infrastructure,” said station manager, John Williamson.

Broadcasting from the Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal, the station first went on air in 1977.
