Justin Hopwood has been appointed sales and marketing director at Emirates Old Trafford and Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Hopwood joins from the Mike Burton Group, the commercial ticketing company, where he was head of sales and marketing. He’s also held senior roles at Premiership rugby clubs Gloucester and Bristol.

He will be responsible for the revenue generation and marketing strategy across all parts of the business, which includes cricket ticket sales, sponsorships and partnerships, hospitality and premium ticketing, memberships and all venue sales, as well as the new Hilton Garden Inn, which opens at Emirates Old Trafford in 2017.

Hopwood starts his new role in February.

LCCC Chairman Michael Cairns OBE said: “Our search for the right person to drive all our revenue streams forward, including ticket sales, our burgeoning conference and events sales, our brand new 150-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn hotel and all our other ancillary businesses, has been a long and thorough process and we are delighted to welcome Justin on board to Lancashire County Cricket Club.”

Hopwood added: “Lancashire County Cricket Club and Emirates Old Trafford are well respected both locally and globally and I am very much looking forward to becoming part of an already successful structure and playing a role in the future of both the club and the venue.”
