Weber Shandwick North has been appointed by Tourism Partnership North Wales to raise awareness of indoor and outdoor adventure activities in the region.

The six-month campaign will focus on positioning North Wales as the UK’s ‘Heart of Adventure’ and preferred destination for adventure enthusiasts. It boasts Europe’s longest zip wire and is well known for its mountain biking, climbing, 4×4 off-roading and wakeboarding.

The Manchester-based agency will work with a number of local indoor and outdoor activity businesses in the region to drive new external customers, and will target national, travel and lifestyle media.

Jo Leah, Weber Shandwick’s managing director and chair of English regions and Wales, said: “North Wales is home to a variety of world class activities all in one small area that are facilitated by experts with real passion.

“There is nowhere else in the country that you can take in stunning mountain views and be within such a short distance of award-winning beaches. We can’t wait to get started.”

The account win adds to Weber Shandwick’s list of clients along the North Wales coast, which already includes Colwyn Bay, Destination Conwy, Visit Anglesey, Attractions of Snowdonia and Food North Wales.
