Dozens of tributes have been paid to a ‘wonderful’ agency star, husband and father who has died suddenly.
Josh Jenkins, from Manchester, was a long-serving planner at independent media agency the7stars. In a post shared this week, the7stars team described Jenkins, affectionately known by many as “Jimmy”, as “our wonderful colleague and friend,” adding that the news had “rocked the7stars community immeasurably.” The agency said it plans to host a memorial in October.
the7stars noted Jenkins’ 12-year journey with the business, beginning in 2013 and spanning roles from intern and graduate through TV buyer and planner.
Jenkins’ wife, Charlotte, who works in Manchester-based PR and marketing, posted that her “wonderful husband and Sophie’s daddy passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.” Posting on LinkedIn she wrote: “There are no words to describe the pain and devastation.”
The news sparked dozens of tributes from across the media and marketing community, praising Jenkins as “talented, kind” and “a brilliant person to be around,” while others remembered him for “always having a smile.”
Simon Harwood, of Billion Dollar Boy, wrote: “So saddened to hear this awful news. It was a real privilege to work alongside Jimmy. He was talented, kind, and a brilliant person to be around, both inside and outside of work. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and all the team at the7stars xx.”
Becky Licorish, global associate director at Brand, said: “Always remember Jimmy for having a smile on his face and being a genuinely kind person.”
Jenkins, who studied at the University of Hull, had more than 10 years’ experience in Media Planning and Client Leadership. He was known for developing and executing high-impact media strategies, building lasting client relationships, and delivering exceptional business results and he had experience managing teams and key client accounts across multiple sectors, including retail, transport, gambling and entertainment.
the7stars said memorial details will follow in October.
