Thorne PR wins three year social housing brief

thorneA consortium of ten social housing landlords has awarded a three-year account to Thorne PR. As social housing features heavily on the political agenda JV North – which collectively manages more than 73,000 homes in Cheshire, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Nottingham – has re-appointed the Leeds agency following a 12-month contract.

Thorne PR will manage all communications online and offline, positioning the consortium in its relevant trade media and increasing engagement with stakeholders, partner agencies and members.

JV North Chairman, Nigel Wilson, said: “Thorne PR provides the consortium with strategic communication advice and delivers to give us a strong voice when communicating to our target audience.

“The agency has many years experience in the social housing, construction and regeneration sectors and its ability to coordinate the activity of 10 landlords from the North West to the East Midlands adds great value.

“The consortium is embarking on a major scheme building nearly 2,000 new, high quality homes across our communities and communicating our members’ work is vital.”

JV North is investing £196m to build 1,745 homes over the next three years under the Homes and Communities Agency’s Affordable Homes Programme.

Previous to this contract, Thorne PR carried out project work for JV North between 2011 and 2014 and has a background in social housing, working for the likes of Liverpool Mutual Homes, TPAS, Magenta Living, City West Housing Trust and John McCall Architects.
