The Traveller and the Bear helps kickstart a “mortgage revolution”

Newcastle’s The Traveller and the Bear has created a brand video for mortgage disrupter, Perenna.

It was produced to cut through to the brand’s key audiences of first-time buyers and later-life borrowers.

Described as a “rallying cry” for those who’ve been neglected by traditional lenders, Perenna says it hopes to give back hope to those left behind by rising prices and a lack of product innovation.

“We partnered with The Traveller and the Bear as they understand our mission to place people at the heart of our products. It has been great working with a team that shares our values and passion for change,” said Gemma Reed, Head of Marketing at Perenna.

“This short film summarises our mission to fight for those who traditional lenders have left behind. It is a film of empowerment and hope for borrowers that feel let down by an unfair market.”

Research from the company revealed “that the UK mortgage market is fundamentally broken.”

It found that 62% of first-time buyers face difficulties securing a large enough mortgage to buy, and 50% delaying major life events like getting married or starting a family as they save for a house.

“We love working with companies who have conviction in their own beliefs,” added  Claire Knight, Managing Director and Co-Founder of The Traveller and The Bear.

“Those with opinions, who aren’t afraid to call things out within their industry. Those who create change instead of just talking about it. Those who truly believe that creativity is powerful and when done right, makes people feel something. We’re really proud of what we’ve created together as a consequence.”
