Jessica Barden is to help dramatise U&Gold’s new feature-length Victoria Wood documentary.
The End of the F***ing World and Dune: Prophecy actress will bring to life extracts from letters, interviews and Victoria Wood’s personal archive in the 90-minute film.
Becoming Victoria Wood will also feature school and university friends and famous faces including Dawn French & Jennifer Saunders, Maxine Peake, Joan Armatrading, Jasper Carrott and Michael Ball.
Despite being a household name and one of the UK’s most loved entertainers, the rarely seen archive material and previously unheard audio recordings will reveal “a young woman navigating insecurity, anger, and self-doubt.”
Among the archive are her beloved scrapbooks, her first-ever recorded performance from 1973, behind the scenes footage and audio diaries made during the making of dinnerladies.
