Reach director launches audience development consultancy

Ed Walker, who played a key role in Reach’s digital transformation, has set up a new agency.

Walker has founded Alma along with former Reach editor, Luke Beardsworth and Shirah Bamber – who’s held senior communications roles at Network Plus and Preston City Council.

“I’ve been fortunate to be able to take some time to consider the next move for me and it’s really exciting to be working with Shirah and Luke to combine and blend our skills and experiences,” said Walker, who left Reach earlier this year.

“Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to have conversations in the last few months and I feel there’s a real opportunity in the audience development space to work not only with media brands – at both the early stages and later stages of their digital journeys but also a lot of skills and techniques I’ve learned can be applied to other sectors too.”

Unsurprisingly, for someone who founded Blog Preston, the audience development consultancy is based in the city.

The company will operate nationwide and said it will provide support to senior leaders, “increasing capability and capacity for in-house teams, and delivering bespoke training and workshops.”
