New business title for Manchester Evening News
Manchester Evening News is launching a new monthly business title, to replace Greater Manchester Business Week.
The “larger and glossier” Manchester Evening News Business magazine comes because of a change in reading style, with more emphasis placed on digital coverage.
Greater Manchester Business Week was first published in 2010 and up until now, was distributed to 12,500 “top business figures” each week.
The 48-page magazine will go out to the same readership with extra copies available at city centre co-working sites.
"After eight very successful years of publishing Greater Manchester Business Week we have undertaken a review of our print and online business products,” explained Paul O’Halloran, commercial managing director for the Manchester Evening News.
“It is becoming increasingly clear that the appetite for instant business news is best served on a daily rather than weekly basis, through our email business bulletin which is growing exponentially in audience and content.
“Our plan is to expand our online offering and publish a larger monthly business magazine which contains more original insight, business opinion and tackles the larger topical issues.”
The first issue will be published next week.
“We want to remain relevant to our readership and that means making some exciting changes so we can focus on exclusive news and features and continue to drive collaboration between editorial and commercial,” added Business editor Shelina Begum.
“This transformation is a natural step in the evolution of the magazine and will create a stronger platform reaching out to all our readers.”
